Wildcat Bowling Club

At Shelby Lanes on Friday's at 4:00 p.m.
Students will be supervised by Certified Coaches
This will introduce students to a new sport that offers the opportunities for college scholarships.  It's a great way to make friends and have fun after school!

2 games of Bowling & shoe rental - $5/per week paid at the Center

Averages will be tracked by Shelby Lanes to see weekly improvement.

Parents must provide transportation to and from Shelby Lanes.

Builders Club

Objectives of Builders Club

To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community.

To develop leadership potential.

Shelby Junior High Snow Sports Club

Shelby Snow Sports Club is open to all Shelby students with good citizenship. We meet once a week, weather permitting (day to be determined), where we board a bus and travel to Mt. Holly. The bus departs Shelby Junior High at 3:15pm and returns at approximately 9:40pm. This is an opportunity to ski or snowboard with your friends, AND/OR learn to ski and snowboard with your friends, and have FUN. Equipment rental, as well as lessons, are available. There is a one-time membership fee which includes access to student seasonal discounted tickets, and dinner on each trip (pizza and a soft drink). Weekly costs are turned in to Mrs. Jenzen or Mrs. Wakefield prior to each trip. 

The club Parent meeting will be Nov. 29th at 6:00 pm at Malow.  Join the remind - text @thnksnow to 81010.  The first trip is planned for Dec. 14th

National Junior Honor Society

Advisors:  Mr. Syler, Mrs. Suchyta

  • NJHS meets the first Wednesday of each month at 3:15 in the cafeteria
  • All applicants and current members are expected to attend. Attendance is mandatory. After 2 unexcused absences, members can be removed.
  • 5 First semester service hours are due Dec. 2 - can be any service done for a Shelby staff member or CSI, IB, and MST staff member as well.
  • New member applications are due to Mrs. Suchyta or Mr. Syler by Dec. 16th.
  • New applicants will be notified of the faculty council decision by end of January
  • Information can be found on the NJHS board between 8th and 9th grade halls, or contact Mr. Syler or Mrs. Suchyta.

Shelby's students are sponsored by Mrs. Echols and Mrs. Tyll.  We hold an informational meeting in December and/or January.  After the initial meeting, we meet with students as needed.

Cooking Club

We usually meet the first Thursday of the month.  Cooking Club is open to all grades.  Meetings run from 3:15-4:15 in room 147.  Make some friends, and have fun learning how to cook, create new recipes and learn cooking techniques.  There is a monthly fee of $3-$5 for supplies, dependent on the recipe for the month.
