On March 22nd,  Shelby held its First Annual STEM night.  SJHS partnered with Tier 1 automotive supplier, Cooper Standard Automotive of Auburn Hills, MI, to bring science activities to approximately 40 of our students. Engineers from the company facilitated six lab stations and spoke with the 7th and 8th graders about the science behind the observed phenomena. The labs topics explored include: thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, anti-gravity, polymer stamping process, and Newton’s second law (F=ma) using catapults and marshmallows.
